WORKSHOP TOPICS:
Acupuncture, A bridge between the Ancient & Moderns Worlds
Although acupuncture has moved more into the main stream, little is
known about the extent of its capabilities and how it actual works. This
workshop offers an intimate and direct experience of how acupuncture
works to promote and influence the healing processes of the human body.
It will provide a modern context to ancient ideas and concepts. Come and
explore how an extremely thin piece of metal (an acupuncture needle) can
have such a profound affect on resolving complex patterns of chronic
discomfort and disease.
Acupuncture is over 5000 years old. It offers a unique model of how the
human body works. This model is based on the how the influences of ones
life (such as stress, anger or grief) interact at the physical level of
the human body. Acupuncture is affective not only in pain management,
but also in helping to resolve autoimmune diseases, gynecological
problems, infertility, anxiety and depression as well as in weight loss
and smoking cessation. You will leave this workshop with a deeper
understanding of acupuncture and its profound effective on the human
condition
Oriental Medicine, Women's Health and Infertility
This 2 hour workshop will explore how both acupuncture and Chinese
herbal medicine have shown to be effective in helping to assist and
resolve the conditions of infertility. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal
medicine continue to gain a wider acceptance as more women begin to
understand that it is a viable, non-invasive option assisting or
replacing more traditional reproductive therapies.
Oriental Medicine can be used alone to increase fertility and achieve
pregnancy, or used in conjunction with assisted reproductive
technologies (ART), or in conjunction with in vitro fertilization (IVF),
including gamete intra-fallopian transfer (GIFT), zygote intra-fallopian
transfer (ZIFT), micro-manipulation, blastocyst transfer, and
cryopreservation. Many women and men have found that acupuncture and
Chinese herbal medicine alone or in conjunction with their infertility
regiment enhances their fertility and assists in dealing with the
emotional challenges infertility presents. This holds the promise of an
overall higher pregnancy rate.
Chasing the Demons: Treating Depression & Anxiety with Acupuncture
Acupuncture is over 5000 years old. It was once the domain of the Wu
shamans of China who used it to treat demon possession and spirit
disorders. The psychology of a human being has not changed over the last
5000 years. The only thing that has changed is the cultural context and
the words used to describe the human condition. This workshop will
explore how this ancient healing practice can be used to restore a
person’s sense of well-being and facilitate the healing of depression
and anxiety.
Come and explore how an extremely thin piece of metal (an acupuncture
needle) can have such a profound affect on resolving the issues of a
person’s mental health. This workshop offers an intimate and direct
experience of how acupuncture works to promote and influence the healing
processes of the human body and help resolve depression and anxiety. You
will leave this workshop with a deeper understanding of acupuncture and
its profound effective on the human condition.
Acupuncture: A New Understanding of Chronic Pain
This 1.5 hour workshop will explore how acupuncture has shown to be
clinically effective in resolving the conditions of chronic pain. Often
standard medical therapies are limited or not effective in their ability
to permanently relieve chronic pain. Acupuncture provides an effective
and viable option when people do not respond to more traditional methods
of treatment. Acupuncture continues to gain a wider acceptance as more
people begin to understand that it is a viable, non-invasive option to
Western medicine.
Chronic pain not only inflicts a continual discomfort on the body, it
affects the disposition of a persons entire life. It raises many
questions like: What is the real nature of chronic pain and why is it so
persistent? Why do Cox 2 inhibitors like Viox and NSAIDs like Bextra
provide only temporary relief and not real healing? This workshop will
help provide insight to these and other questions. More importantly, it
will provide the information needed to make an informed decision if
acupuncture is the correct path needed to help resolve the condition of
chronic pain.
Taste, Smell & Experience Chinese Herbal Medicine
This 1.5 hour workshop will provide hands on experience of the different
types of Chinese formulas and their preparations. Discover how over 3500
individual herbs are combined in 100’s of different formulas all used in
Chinese Herbal medicine. Learn the difference between prepared or
powered formulas, decoctions and drafts. We will discuss the diagnostic
framework used to prescribe formulas. There will also be a discussion of
the differences between Chinese herbal formulas, homeopathy, and Western
herbs.
Come and explore this ancient healing art. Chinese herbal medicine is
rooted in 5000 years of History. Once used by Shamans, herbal formulas
are now found in many clinical settings. They can be a safe and
effective alternative to common drug therapies. A specific Chinese
herbal formula is the basis for treating 1 type of Leukemia as well as
recommended by the WHO for treating malaria. They are effective for
treating the common cold, allergies, digestive problems, relieving
stress and anxiety or for building the immune system. You will leave
this workshop with a deeper understanding of herbal remedies and their
effectiveness.

and how to they can be used to help restore the health and vitality for
most of our bodies functions. Systemic enzymes or proteolytic enzymes
are those that operate not just for digestion but throughout your body
in every system and organ. They are biocatalysts that used
therapeutically provide the following 5 basic functions: Natural
Anti-Inflammatory, Anti Fibrosis., Blood Cleansing, Immune System
Modulating, as well as Virus Fighting. Come and explore how these enzyme
can be used to resolve most inflammatory conditions, restore organ
health, strengthen the immune system and lower blood pressure.
